“IN SUPPORT OF RESEARCH AND AWARENESS OF PANCREATIC CANCER”
The organisers are pleased to invite you to support a very worthy cause and enter a team for this inaugural event being held on Friday 24th March 2017.
The day will be filled with lots of challenges, enjoyment and prizes for all participants.
Please note your diaries and get your team together ASAP to ensure your place on the day. We would also like to encourage you to let your business associates and friends know about the day.
There is a lot of interest and the field will be limited to 100, so make sure you get your entry in as early as possible.
If you have any queries contact either Peter Kennedy on 8391 0547 or Des Heffernan on 0408 848 147.
We look forward to your support.
A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE AVNER FOUNDATION
The foundation was established in October 2008 after Avner Nahmani succumbed to this lethal disease. Peter Murphy is a well known and loved Adelaide Hills identity who passed away in 2013.
It is the only foundation that is exclusively dedicated to pancreatic cancer and Avner’s wife Carolyn is carrying on his legacy to raise awareness and increase research after 40 years of no progress.
100% of all funds raised go into Pancreatic Research, so every dollar can make a difference.
The current survival rate is a woeful 6.1% beyond 5 years and is the lowest of the 27 most common cancers. Their mission is to double the survival rate by 2020.
It is a fast and lethal disease so research to detect it early is critical.

Again, we encourage you to support this worthy cause that has been neglected for far too long and in honour of a much admired local Mount Barker boy, the late Peter Murphy.
