Course Requirements & Etiquette

Course clothing should be sporting attire which is neat and clean, and recognised as being appropriate for the game of golf.

It is a minimum expectation that all people attending the Clubhouse are wearing casual attire that is neat and clean at all times.

The Club staff or Club Professional reserve the right to refuse entry or service to anyone not conforming to dress regulations.

 To enable all players to enjoy their game and our course the following conditions apply:

The following forms of dress are acceptable:

  • Collared shirt or a shirt with a derivative collar which is a defined part of the shirt, which includes a “turtleneck”.
  • Tailored trousers or shorts
  • Socks are to be worn with shorts
  • Jeans (Neat & clean)
  • Golf Shoes or sporting activity shoes that will not damage the course surfaces.

The following forms of dress are unacceptable:

  • Shirts without any form of collar or are damaged and/or badly worn
  • Track suit pants or shorts
  • Work wear or work shoes which are dirty, damaged and/or badly worn
  • Singlets/tank tops or shirts with excessively sized or any offensive or controversial slogans
  • Beach wear, brief shorts or lycra style pants / shorts
  • Jeans which are dirty or damaged. Styles with damage due to original design will be assessed on a case by case basis, however excessive or extensive holes or transparency will be refused.
  • Thongs or “flip flops”

Note: sandals are permitted to be worn in the clubhouse but are banned for use on the course

On course etiquette

  • All player are required to carry a sand bucket
  • Replace divots or fill divots with sand
  • Use rubbish bins provided
  • Walk briskly between shots.
  • Hit off before marking your card – if it’s your honour.
  • Be ready to play when it’s your turn.
  • Keep up with the group in front
  • Local rules are displayed on Pro Shop notice board, please note prior to hitting off

Liquor Licensing

Laws regarding the responsible service of alcohol apply and guests under the age of 18 are not to partake in alcohol. Alcohol may not be brought onto the premises at any time. However, alcohol may be purchased from the Mt Barker-Hahndorf Golf Club and is permitted to be consumed by guests both in the clubrooms, or outside the clubrooms and on the course.

Alcohol not purchased from the Mt Barker-Hahndorf Golf Club is not permitted and cannot be consumed by guests both inside the clubrooms, or outside the clubrooms or on the course.

Damage & Conduct

Guests are responsible for any damage sustained on the day to the Course or the Club including Golf Carts, Hired Clubs, Clubrooms and equipment, bathrooms and equipment.

The Club will not accept any responsibility for damage or loss of guest property left in the Club prior, during or after the Golf Day. Guests should arrange their own insurance and/or security.

The Club reserves the right to exclude or eject any or all-objectionable persons from the Golf Course or Club premises without liability.

Insurance

It is the responsibility of the guest to obtain their own insurance cover including Public Liability.

The Mt Barker-Hahndorf Golf Club will take no responsibility for any claim or loss by any player.
