This par three is protected, to some extent, by a creek from the tee. The backdrop of Mt Barker makes the view very scenic.

Often into the prevailing wind this par 5 offers reward for the long hitter. The green is long, narrow and split level and the approach from the right is protected by gum trees in the creek. Rip a long drive off the tee and try to get on for two, the green is straight down the hill. Beware of trees left and right and the OOB on the right. The water hazard is danger for any mishit second shot to the green. Play the hole more conservatively and the water is not such a threat. Two completely different holes if played from the ‘tiger’ tee or the regular tee. The fairway is protected on the right by a dam and along the left by a small creek and trees. Once safely on the fairway the gap between the large tree on the left and the many trees on the right is not that wide. The green is one of the largest and has many testing positions. Lay up short of the creek across the fairway is the safest option as there are many hazards in the air as well as the creek and the dam on the right. Play a precision shot to the gap at the corner of this sharp right hand dogleg, left of centre is a more forgiving line to take. Too long or too short and the trees will protect the green left and right. The elevated green is not that easy to hit and stay on, as the ball seems to run off with a minimum effort. This hole looks straightforward from the tee to the green in the distance. However, there are dangers left and right with water and trees. This hole requires an accurate tee shot to stay on the fairway which slopes right to left. Once that is achieved another accurate shot is required to negotiate the large bunker left and the smaller one on the right. The OOB fence beckons on the right so there are many hurdles to negotiate. The invitation is extended to drive long over the creek and set up a delicate short shot into the green but risk going into the water, or lay up on the ‘plateau’ short of the creek and play the longer shot in.
